‘The Amazing Race’: Meet the 11 Teams of Season 32 (PHOTOS)
Ready to meet the new teams not only participating in the latest season of The Amazing Race (its 32nd!) but also part of the series crossing a milestone?
On Tuesday, CBS announced the 11 teams racing for the $1 million prize, during which the competition series hosted by Phil Keoghan will cross one million miles traveled around the world. (This season was filmed prior to the coronavirus pandemic.)
They begin from the iconic Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and along the way will travel to Trinidad and Tobago (the first destination), France, Germany, Kazakhstan, Brazil and more, in hopes of crossing the finish line first and being crowned the winners. The teams include former NFL stars DeAngelo Williams and Gary Barnidge, Olympians Kellie Brinkley and LaVonne Idlette, and pro volleyball players Riley and Maddison McKibbin.
On The Amazing Race, teams must compete in a series of mental and physical challenges at every destination to find out where they’re headed next. The teams who are the farthest behind will be eliminated throughout the season.
“Elise and I created The Amazing Race 20 years ago as a way to bring the expansive beauty of the world into audiences’ living rooms in an exciting way,” co-creator and executive producer Bertram van Munster said in a statement. “This year has been a challenge for everyone, and we hope this season, during which Race will reach the remarkable milestone of one million miles traveled around the world, helps satisfy viewers’ wanderlust. We look forward to when we can all travel again!”
