Ranking 9 ‘Bachelorette’ Villains — Who Is the Worst of Them All? (POLL)

They might not be the best guys, but we sure love to hate them. Since the inception of The Bachelorette, a whole bunch of questionable men have entered through the doors of The Bachelor mansion. Yet, suddenly, it got a lot worse when social media and Bachelor in Paradise became part of the game. From that moment onwards, some contestants became the worst versions of themselves just to gain some notoriety.

To be loved might be out of your control, but to be hated is an easy feat to accomplish. To stir the pot can go one or two ways, the fans love your outspoken mind, or they’ll hate you for it.

But then there are the hidden villains. The ones who think they can get away with everything — that their nice facade will last. Often, a more abrasive personality takes the lead during the season, yet there’s always a moment when their act evaporates, and the real version of themselves pops out. This is what happened to Devin Strader, who broke Jenn Tran‘s heart in the shocking Season 21 finale.

One thing is for certain: To be a villain means that you will forever be engrained in Bachelor Nation history. Scroll down to see our ranking of Bachelorette villains and cast your vote for the biggest baddie.

9. Thomas Jacobs, The Bachelorette Season 17

He might not have had his wish to become the Bachelor granted, but he was able to find his love on Bachelor in Paradise with fan favorite Becca Kufrin. The two are married and have a baby together.

Thomas is definitely not a terrible guy. His intentions the first go-around were questionable, though. Whether he was there for the right reasons (in Bachelor Nation lingo) is up for debate as he quickly brought up his desire to become the lead of the franchise. That dream has now been put to rest.

Thomas also poked fun at his own villain arc when he captioned an Instagram post in 2021, “A red head, villain and a virgin walk into a bar.”

8. Nick Viall, The Bachelorette Seasons 10 and 11

Nick is a redeemed villain, if you will. The double Bachelorette runner-up turned Bachelor lead turned podcaster has enough personality to be a group of five, yet it’s just him.

With his confidence that borderlines on arrogance, Nick can truly be seen as a fan favorite or villain. Never having been able to truly be buddy-buddy with the rest of the boys during his time on The Bachelorette, Nick has since proven that he can be a good guy if he wants to. But more often than not, when he was on The Bachelorette, he opted to become the center of attention.

7. Brayden Bowers, The Bachelorette Season 20

Brayden is by far one the best three men on this list. His worst offense was his annoying antics and dangly earring collection, but compared to some of these other men, he’s a walk in the park.

Although, there are some that deserve to be on this list more if it was just about bad behavior, Brayden is a good example of what a villain should be. Not necessarily a horrible human being, but rather someone with a slight egotistical side that can get under anyone’s skin.

Yes, he should’ve been less cocky, but he knows how to create drama without truly hurting anyone’s feelings.

6. Sam McKinney, The Bachelorette Season 21

During his run on The Bachelorette, Sam M. became the “main” villain of Season 21. From his “Daisy or Maria” comment in front of Jenn to dancing around his feelings, Sam M. walked right into the Bachelorette bad boy arena.

However, he did clock Devin from the beginning, but only few people believed him. He kept the “main thing the main thing” the whole time regarding Devin, and when Devin’s true colors finally surfaced, you know Sam M. felt vindicated. Is it time for his redemption era?

5. Jed Wyatt, The Bachelorette Season 15

Another Season 15 villain on this list? Dun, dun, dun. Who else could it be other than Jed?

No, he didn’t ruffle any feathers while he was on the show, but having a girlfriend, whom you ghosted to come on the show, is still pretty darn bad.

To make matters even worse, he admitted to coming on The Bachelorette to promote his music career. How did that work out for you, buddy?

He’s the second and last guy of Hannah’s season to be included in this list, but Cam is an honorary mention.

4. Bentley Williams, The Bachelorette Season 7

A Bentley car might be worth a fortune, but this iteration was not really a class act.

He wasn’t into lead Ashley Hebert that much, and he let everyone know. Instead of leaving The Bachelorette mansion on his own accord, Bentley assured that it would eventually become everyone’s problem.

Some of his questionable statements include saying that “swimming in pee” would be more enjoyable than planning a wedding with Ashley. There’s also his infamous line, “I’m going to make Ashley cry. I hope my hair looks okay.”

3. Luke Parker, The Bachelorette Season 15

Misogynist, narcissist, and aggressive were just some of the terms Luke P. was called during his time on The Bachelorette. Being able to annoy just about every other contestant is almost impressive — if only we all weren’t so scared.

To this day, everyone is still confused by how Luke P. ended up in Hannah Brown‘s top four. The way he switched up his persona and fooled her almost felt like a great acting performance, because no real man can be that cruel, right?
His villain run reached its climax during the Men Tell All. Thankfully, Hannah didn’t hesitate to tell him off.

He used being a born-again virgin as a ploy to excuse him from taking any accountability. Sorry, Luke P., being a devout Christian doesn’t give you a pass for your behavior.

2. Devin Strader, The Bachelorette Season 21

Devin, oh, Devin — you had us in the first half, not going to lie. But alas, your true colors were shown in the finale. All theories aside, one thing is for certain, the supposed Pete Davidson “lookalike” didn’t treat Jenn’s heart with as much care, he once promised.

From becoming distant the minute they entered the real world to breaking up with her in a 15-minute phone call to following The Bachelor alum Maria Georgas on Instagram, Devin has done all the worst acts. The most recent Bachelorette winner is for sure in Bachelor Nation Villains hall of fame.

1. Chad Johnson, The Bachelorette Season 12

Chad is for sure the worst offender. If you read the dictionary description of “villain,” you would really find him.

Unfortunately, we’re not just talking about him shoving a guy or for delivering the zinger, “F**k you, Chris Harrison.” His villainy went further than just Bachelor Nation. It also appeared in other reality dating shows he appeared on, Famously Single and Ex on the Beach.

Sadly, even his personal life can’t escape from his “evil caricature,” as Chad has since been in some legal trouble. In 2020, he was arrested for robbery with domestic violence enhancement after an argument with girlfriend-at-the-time Annalise Mishler.
