‘The Night Agent’: See Teaser for White House Action Drama from ‘S.W.A.T.’ Creator (VIDEO)
In the basement of the White House, there’s an emergency phone that never rings… until now. Netflix has unveiled the first look at its upcoming action drama The Night Agent, and the teaser and photos point to a high-action adventure.
“Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent who works in the basement of the White House, manning a phone that never rings — until the night that it does, propelling him into a fast moving and dangerous conspiracy that ultimately leads all the way to the Oval Office,” the logline teases.
Netflix’s February 8 announcement also reveals the show’s additional cast after the series was announced in November 2021. Starring in the series is Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, the titular night-shift agent who mans an emergency hotline for American spies. When a call comes in from a terrified civilian, Rose Larkin (Luciane Buchanan), Peter must protect Rose and work with her to uncover the conspiracy that threatens to rock the nation.
Rose is a young tech CEO who has fallen on hard times and has retreated to her aunt and uncle’s house to reassess her life. When assassins come for her aunt and uncle, Rose learns they were not who they pretended to be and, after barely escaping, finds herself with Peter, running for their lives.
Hong Chau plays Diane Farr, the President’s powerhouse Chief of Staff and loyal defender. Sarah Desjardins plays Maddie Redfield, the Vice President’s teenage daughter who’s looking to escape his shadow. Playing Maddie’s head of security is Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington, a hardworking head of security detail overseeing a group of male agents.
An unpredictable killer comes in the form of Eve Harlow‘s Ellen, whose impulses come at a cost. Phoenix Raei plays Dale, Ellen’s partner in violence and in love. Enrique Murciano plays Ben Almora, a measured, steady hand who guides the Secret Service in the White House.
And rounding out the cast is D.B. Woodside, who plays Erik Monks, a former Secret Service agent who returns after a long hiatus, prepared to earn back the trust and respect of the institution he serves. Check out the suspenseful Night Agent teaser above.
