7 of Kevin & Randall’s Best Brotherly ‘This Is Us’ Moments (PHOTOS)
This Is Us continues to deliver emotional twists and turns with each passing episode, and its upcoming fifth season is sure to continue the trend. While it’s unlikely fans will see the Pearsons return by their usual September date due to COVID-19-related production delays, there’s certainly a lot to look forward to.
One of Season 4’s biggest stressors was the growing tension between brothers Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Randall (Sterling K. Brown), who disagreed about the approach to treating their mother Rebecca’s (Mandy Moore) progressing Alzheimer’s. In the interim, while we wait for the tension to (hopefully) be resolved, we’re taking a look back on some happier times between Kevin and Randall.

Randall's 'Big 3' Pep-Talk
(Season 1, Episode 2)
After Kevin (Justin Hartley) learns he won’t be able to back out of his contract with The Manny following his on-set meltdown, he calls Randall for advice. When he doesn’t have an answer right away, Randall (Sterling K. Brown) tells Kevin to breathe and kicks off the “Big 3” chant their parents created as a way of boosting his brother’s confidence.

When Kevin ditches the opening night of his Broadway play to see if his brother Randall is okay, it became one of the many defining moments from Season 1. And even now the scene continues to be a standout when it comes to the sibling’s relationship.
Randall Pays It Forward
(Season 2, Episode 11)
During Kevin’s time in rehab after struggling with alcohol, he has a family session with his siblings and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) that doesn’t go smoothly. Afterwards, Randall talks candidly to Kevin, saying that after Kevin supported him through his emotional breakdown, he should have done the same and could be better. The moment serves as a positive breakthrough in their relationship.

Once Randall’s purchased the old building his biological father William (Ron Cephas Jones) used to live in, he calls for Kevin’s help in renovating the run-down space. Their teamwork makes this moment one of their most memorable.

(Season 2, Episode 18)
In the Season 2 finale, Kevin and Randall do their best to make sure Kate’s (Chrissy Metz) wedding day is perfect. When she goes missing they set out to find her and are hilarious as they attempt to put on a calm front for the guests and their family until they do.
Kevin Admires Randall's Spirit
(Season 3, Episode 6)
When the brothers meet up for the day in Philadelphia, Kevin shares updates on what he’s learned about Jack’s (Milo Ventimiglia) time in Vietnam, while Randall recruits his help on the campaign trail as he runs for the councilman’s position. At the end of their day, Kevin notes how bold Randall is to follow the path he leads, taking on tasks and challenges without a second guess. This then inspires Kevin to continue his quest for answers about Jack’s Vietnam experience. Needless to say, it’s a sweet bonding moment for them.
Premiere Catch-Up
(Season 3, Episode 2)
At the premiere for Kevin’s movie, he discovers Randall seated in the theater and the pair chat excitedly as they play catch-up. The quick exchange changes tone when Kevin mentions something Kate said about being the only sibling who can pass on their father Jack’s legacy, but before, their demeanor is completely joyful.
