‘Nine Perfect Strangers,’ ‘Dune’ & More Adaptations Based on Books in 2021

For those who have been looking forward to seeing their favorite books making their way to the small screen, the 2021 lineup is stacked.

From another highly-anticipated series based on a book by Liane Moriarty (Big Little Lies) to an inspiration for Star Wars coming to Hulu to a film coming to HBO Max the same day as theaters (thanks to Warner Bros.’ new planned rollout), there are quite a few offerings you won’t want to miss. Nine Perfect Strangers

Big Little Lies author Liane Moriarty also penned the novel behind this high-profile limited series, which follows a group of clients at a pricey mind-body retreat run by the mysterious Masha (Nicole Kidman). Melissa McCarthy, Bobby Cannavale, and Michael Shannon play some of the guests in for surprising treatments. Summer, Hulu

Dune

The hugely anticipated big-screen adaptation of Frank Herbert’s iconic 1965 sci-fi novel will be available to stream the same day it hits theaters. The epic first half of a planned two films—about a feudal space society facing colonization issues and, yes, giant worms—stars Timothée Chalamet (Call Me by Your Name), the Star Wars franchise’s Oscar Isaac and Euphoria‘s Zendaya.
