Wednesday’s episode of History’s hit drama Vikings will feature the nuptials between King Harald (Peter Franzén) and Astrid (Josefin Asplund) in what looks to be a beautiful ceremony, as you tell from the exclusive photos above, replete with colorful outfits, and intriguing headwear and hair styles.

But while the ceremony itself may be lovely, it doesn’t sound like the marriage will be starting out under the most beautiful of circumstances at all. In the new episode, called “The Plan,” Harald returns to his hometown and introduces Astrid, Queen Lagertha’s confidante and now his captive, as part of his dream to become King of Norway. Is marrying Astrid the way to fit her into his plan?

Will Astrid break free from King Harald, or will she betray Queen Lagertha to find love, get married and become Queen herself? You’ll have to watch and see. In the meantime, click through the exclusive gallery above and enjoy the wedding images!
