Anne Rice (Dark) Gifts For ‘Interview With the Vampire’ & ‘Mayfair Witches’ Fans

AMC has a hit franchise on its hands with the Anne Rice Immortal Universe.

Interview With the Vampire was the inaugural series in the franchise, debuting in 2022, and it’s been lauded as one of the best new shows on television. Its sister series, Mayfair Witches, came next, bringing fans into the rich lives of the magical Mayfair family. A third Anne Rice series is in the works, but Interview With the Vampire Season 2 will arrive long before that (Mayfair Witches was also renewed).

Both of the series are new adaptations of Rice’s literary classics. Interview With the Vampire Season 1 is based on the first half of the novel of the same name, the first in The Vampire Chronicles book franchise. Season 2 will cover the second half, with the potential third season diving into The Vampire Lestat. Mayfair Witches is based on The Witching Hour, the first of Rice’s Lives of the Mayfair Witches book franchise. There were also two film adaptations of The Vampire Chronicles: 1994’s Interview With the Vampire starring Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, Kirsten Dunst, and Antonio Banderas; and 2002’s Queen of the Damned starring Aaliyah and Stuart Townsend.
