Alisha Wainwright

Alisha Wainwright became best known for playing the role of Maia Roberts on the fantasy series "Shadowhunters: The Moral Instruments" (2016- ). Wainwright rarely divulged personal information about her past in interviews, but she did appear in a comedy short film called "Murder on Her Mind" in 2008, but would not appear in another screen acting role for another four years. Her next role came in 2012 on the popular YouTube series "Smosh" (YouTube, 2005- ), which she followed by landing a part in the short film "Second Rate Deal" in 2013. Wainwright's first network TV acting job came in 2014 when she nabbed a guest spot on the CBS crime procedural "Criminal Minds" (CBS, 2005- ).

From there Wainwright began landing more substantial TV and film acting roles. In addition to a part in the film "Just Before I Go" (2014), she also landed parts on the TV shows "Perception" (TNT, 2012-15), "Switched at Birth" (Freeform, 2011-17), and the animated Disney web series "Disney Star Darlings" (YouTube, 2015-16), in which she voiced the role of Leona. Then in 2017 Wainwright landed her breakout role on "Shadowhunters: The Moral Instruments." She began playing the supporting role of Maia Roberts on the Freeform fantasy series in 2017, but her character was quickly promoted to series regular.
