Charlie Sexton is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for his work as a solo artist and for his longtime collaboration with Bob Dylan as a member of Dylan's touring band. He brought his musical talents to a variety of films over the course of his Hollywood career. Sexton began his entertainment career with his music featured in films like the Eddie Murphy hit action film "Beverly Hills Cop II" (1987), the Jon Cryer action movie "Dudes" (1988) and the Mel Gibson action picture "Air America" (1990).
In addition to his music, Sexton appeared in "David Bowie: Glass Spider Tour" (ABC, 1987-88). In the nineties, Sexton's music continued to appear on the silver screen, including in films like "Thelma & Louise" (1991) with Geena Davis and the Christian Slater adventure "True Romance" (1993). Film continued to be his passion as he played roles in "The Last Ride" (1994) and "Natural Selection" (2003). Sexton also contributed music to "The Open Road" (2009) with Justin Timberlake. Sexton most recently acted in the drama "Boyhood" (2014) with Patricia Arquette.
