Chaz Lamar Shepherd started his acting career at the age of 15. Shepherd's career began with roles in "Sister, Sister" (1993-99), "In the House" (UPN, 1994-97) and "Me and the Boys" (ABC, 1994-95). He also appeared in the TV movie "Survive the Night" (USA, 1992-93). He also was featured in the miniseries "Queen" (1992-93).

He continued his comedic performances throughout the nineties, appearing on"Minor Adjustments" (UPN, 1995-96), "Moesha" (UPN, 1995-2001) and "The Steve Harvey Show" (WB, 1995-2002). Shepherd's music was most recently used in the Tyler Perry drama sequel "Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?" (2010). He held additional roles in television including a part on "The Parkers" (UPN, 1998-2004). He also had a part in the TV miniseries "The Temptations" (1998-99). Shepherd put his acting skills to use in films like the Jada Pinkett Smith action flick "Set It Off" (1996) and the Eddie Murphy box office smash comedy adaptation "The Nutty Professor" (1996).
