Since making a big splash with his role in the 2002 Broadway musical production of "Hairspray," actor and singer Corey Reynolds has enjoyed displaying his versatility across film, television and stage. Raised in a single-parent household, Reynolds became interested in acting in high school. Despite never having taken acting or singing lessons, Reynolds was cast in a school production of "A Chorus Line" and was pleased to discover his talent for performing. Reynolds acknowledges that acting has since provided him with the feeling of family that he missed as a child and an adolescent.

Tenaciously pursuing his dream of acting while still a teenager, Reynolds won small roles in stage productions including "Smoky Joe's Cafe" and a touring production of "Saturday Night Fever." Originally cast in the ensemble for "Hairspray," Reynolds read for the role of Seaweed, and was ultimately cast in that role, subsequently winning Tony and Drama Desk nominations for his work. This success led director Steven Spielberg to cast Reynolds in the 2004 Tom Hanks vehicle "The Terminal," Reynolds' feature film debut. As he continued to field stage roles, Reynolds also appeared in various television series, including "Without a Trace," "CSI: Miami" and "Private Practice." In 2011, Reynolds was cast as Sgt. David Gabriel in the acclaimed procedural "The Closer," and stayed with the show until its seventh and final season in 2011.
