At the beginning of her acting career, Courtenay Taylor had roles on several types of programs such as "Strong Medicine" (1999-2005), "Cold Case" (CBS, 2003-2010) and "CSI: New York" (CBS, 2004-2013). She also appeared in "Close to Home" (CBS, 2005-07). Taylor also provided her talents as a voice actor for "Avatar: The Last Airbender" (Nickelodeon, 2004). She continued to work steadily in television throughout the early 2000s and the 2010s, appearing on "Criminal Minds" (2005-), "Everybody Hates Chris" (2005-09) and "Wizards of Waverly Place" (Disney, 2007-2011). She also appeared in "iCarly" (Nickelodeon, 2007-2012) and "Franklin & Bash" (TNT, 2010-14). During these years, she additionally appeared in film, receiving a role in "Take" (2008).

In her more recent career, she tackled roles on "Let's Big Happy" (Myspace, 2011-12) and "Person of Interest" (CBS, 2011-). She also appeared in the Jack Plotnick horror flick "Rubber" (2011).
