Once touted as the "Next Big Thing" in teen-oriented pop music, Cymphonique Miller's rise to fame mirrored that of Miley Cyrus, another young talent from a musical family. A native of Los Angeles, Cymphonique Miller was the daughter of rap mogul Master P (Percy Robert Miller), who ran the record label No Limit Records and performed the hit single "Make 'Em Say Uhh!" (1998).

Miller's famous family also included her older brother, rapper Romeo, who made his own mainstream impact by appearing on "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 2005- ). With an ear for music and performing arts in her blood, Miller pursued a career in the spotlight at a young age.

She first gained national recognition in 2009 after competing in Radio Disney's "Next Big Thing," a contest held by the popular kid-centric station to discover young talent in the vein of Hilary Duff and Cyrus. Even though Miller placed second in the competition, it helped launch her career as an aspiring singer. Radio Disney began playing Miller's single "Butterflies" (2009) regularly and also sent her on the road as a supporting act for teen superstars such as Demi Lovato and Ashley Tisdale - all of which gave the young performer great exposure.

Miller made her onscreen acting debut on the Nickelodeon comedy series "Just Jordan" (2007), about an Arkansas teen (Little JJ) who relocates to Los Angeles and helps run a diner with his grandfather. Miller further stretched her acting muscles with a minor role in the family feature "Opposite Day," which featured showbiz veteran Dick Van Patten as well as a handful of up-and-coming young actors like "Modern Family" (ABC, 2009- ) cast members Ariel Winter and Rico Rodriguez.

Miller continued appearing on Nickelodeon's most popular shows, from "True Jackson, VP" (2008-11) to "Big Time Rush" (2009) before landing her own starring vehicle. On the musical comedy series "How to Rock," based on the book How to Rock Braces and Glasses by Meg Haston, Miller played a formerly popular girl whose social life turns upside down after having to wear glasses and braces. Aside from starring on the show, Miller also performed the theme song "Only You Can Be You."

In 2011, Miller received one of her first industry accolades when she was nominated for Best Female Hip-Hop Artist at the BET Awards.
