Band

Members: Mark Mothersbaugh

DEVO is an American rock band formed in Akron, Ohio, in 1973 by brothers Mark Mothersbaugh and Bob Mothersbaugh, along with Gerald Casale, Bob Casale, and Alan Myers. Known for their unique blend of new wave, punk rock, and art rock, DEVO is distinguished by their satirical social commentary, robotic stage personas, and the use of synthesizers.

Their 1980 hit "Whip It" brought them mainstream success, though their work often explored themes of de-evolution and the absurdity of modern life. DEVO's innovative approach to music, performance, and visual art has left a lasting influence on alternative and electronic music scenes.
