Dina Shihabi was born on Sept. 22, 1989, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She spent her childhood in cities including Beirut, Lebanon, and Dubai, United Arab Emirates, during which time she developed an interest in and talent for dance and acting. At the age of 18, she moved to New York City to pursue her passions properly, enrolling in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Following graduation from the program, Shihabi was accepted to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts.

Around the same time, Shihabi began finding professional acting gigs. She appeared in the drama film "David" (2011) and starred in the romance "Amira & Sam" (2014) opposite Martin Starr. Over on the small screen, Shihabi landed a recurring roll the Tea Leoni-starring political drama "Madame Secretary" (CBS 2014-) in 2016, before being enlisted as a series regular on the thriller "Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan" (Amazon 2018-). She was cast to play Hani, the wife of activist Suleiman, portrayed by actor Ali Suliman.
