At a very young age, Canadian-born actress Erica Cerra appeared in a string of high-profile TV commercials before deciding to spend the remainder of her formative years away from show business. She returned at age 22 with a role in the monster-packed action-comedy series "Special Unit 2" and a subsequent turn in the cosmic afterlife dramedy "Dead Like Me." After appearing on the supernatural shows "Stephen King's Dead Zone" and "The Collector," Cerra made her major-motion-picture debut as a gothic vixen in the vampire hit "Blade: Trinity."

Her penchant for the otherworldly proved not to be fleeting when she landed further roles on such fantasy and science-fiction series as "Smallville," "The 4400," and "Warehouse 13," the last of which served to solidify Cerra as a prominent name on the SyFy channel's roster of cult-adored talent. Her recurring role as an instrumental school teacher on the network's critically acclaimed flagship series "Battlestar Galactica" helped launch her long run on the sci-fi show "Eureka," playing the gun-toting no-nonsense Deputy Jo Lupo amid a town of fantastical geniuses and inventors. In addition to co-starring as the Greek goddess Hera (who, coincidentally, was the namesake of her "Battlestar" character's foster child) in the feature film "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief," Cerra frequently appears as characters of noted beauty on series and in movies such as the psychiatric drama "Huff," the sapphic saga "The L Word," and the Ben Affleck-starring "Man About Town."
