Despite being the daughter of a major Hollywood actor, Fiona Dourif grew up with no plans to pursue a career on screen herself. She took mischievous joy in being the daughter of "Chucky"-the evil doll from the horror franchise for which her father, actor Brad Dourif, provided the voice-but Dourif herself didn't consider acting until producer David Milch, who worked with her father on "Deadwood" (HBO, 2004-06) suggested she try it, and offered to pay for an acting class. Milch was right and Dourif fell in love with the craft. She made her first on-screen appearance on three episodes of "Deadwood" in 2005, though she was so nervous on set that producers opted to recast her in a less prominent role.

Having built up some much needed confidence through the experience, Dourif next landed a part in the mini series "Thief" (FX, 2006). She would go on to play roles in films like "The Messenger" (2009) and in Paul Thomas Anderson's "The Master" (2012), and also gained more TV experience with a regular role on the fourth season of "True Blood" (HBO, 2008-2014) in 2011. Then in 2013, Dourif was given the chance to collaborate on one of her father's projects yet again, this time playing Nica in "Curse of Chucky" (2013). Numerous projects followed, including a starring role on the quirky comedy series "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" (BBC America, 2016-).
