Frank McCourt was an actor who had a successful Hollywood career. His acting career began with roles in the series "One Life to Live" (1967-2010), "Cosby" (CBS, 1996-2000) and "Open Book" (1997-99). He had an early role on the television special "May the Road Rise to Meet You" (PBS, 1996-97). He also contributed to a variety of television specials, including "The Irish in America: Long Journey Home" (1997-98), "The McCourts of Limerick" (Cinemax, 1997-98) and "The McCourts of New York" (Cinemax, 1998-99).

Additionally, he could be seen on a variety of television specials like "John Williams, Yo-Yo Ma, Frank McCourt and Patti LuPone" (1999-2000), "Only a Teacher" (PBS, 2000-01) and "The Irish Gala" (PBS, 2000-01). He also appeared in "In Our City: New Yorkers Remember September 11th" (PBS, 2001-02). McCourt last appeared on the documentary "King Leopold's Ghost" (2006) with Annick DeVille. McCourt passed away in July 2009 at the age of 79.
