Grace Kaufman was born into a family of actors on April 29, 2002. Her father, mother, and uncle (David Kaufman, Lisa Picotte, and Adam Kaufman, respectively) have been making film and television appearances since the 1990s. Even her younger brother, Henry Kaufman, worked in the industry, and appeared on shows on which his sister also starred, like "Doc McStuffins" (Disney Junior, 2012-), "Whisker Haven Tales with the Palace Pets" (2015-16), and "Clarence" (Cartoon Network, 2014-). She began performing in theater at age 7 in shows like "The Wizard of Oz" and "Annie," and made her TV debut, in a starring role no less, as the voice of Deema on animated educational show "Bubble Guppies" (Nickelodeon, 2011-).

She continued her voiceover work when she lent her voice to a zombie antagonist in video game "Call of Duty: Black Ops II" (2012). Kaufman received critical acclaim for her role in feature film drama "Sister" (2014), and landed a recurring role on the "Bad Teacher" (CBS, 2014) TV series, based on the film of the same name. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled after one season, but she returned to voice acting portraying recurring character Chelsea on "Clarence" (Cartoon Network, 2014- ). Kaufman landed a live action recurring role as Ashley Chandler on "The Last Ship" (TNT, 2014-present), and co-starred in the Matt LeBlanc sitcom "Man with a Plan" (CBS, 2016- ).
