Although his wife, actress Tina Fey, gets the lion's share of the credit for making the television show "30 Rock" such a success, composer/producer/director Jeff Richmond is a major "behind the scenes" contributor to the show. The multi-talented Ohioan co-penned several musicals while attending Kent State University, and he worked his way up through the legendary Second City troupe as well as the Child's Play Touring Theatre, before landing a gig composing music for "Saturday Night Live."
It was during his time at Second City that Richmond first met Fey, which led to the pair both working on "Saturday Night Live" at the same time. Fey and Richmond were married in 2001. Five years later, Richmond began contriubting his multifarious talents to the Fey-created "30 Rock," serving as a producer, composer, director, and even an actor (as the character Alfonso). Richmond has won multiple Emmy and PGA Awards for his work on the show. During this time, he also composed the score to the movie "Baby Mama" which featured his wife in the starring role.
