Jordyn Woods is an American actress, model, and entrepreneur, who parlayed a striking Instagram presence into a multi-million dollar fashion and cosmetics empire, alongside her best friend, Kylie Jenner, before a shocking sex scandal nearly threatened to derail everything.
Born on September 23, 1997 in Los Angeles, CA, Woods was part of a media-savvy family from the very beginning: her mother, Elizabeth, ran her own management company, Woods Management Group, while her father, John, was a sound engineer for television. Meanwhile, her older brothers, John Woods III and Joshua Woods, were an actor and a photographer/tattoo artist, respectfully, while her younger sister, Jodie, would follow in her older sister's footsteps by becoming a model. Under the tutelage of her mother, Woods was modeling professionally when she was six years old, but it wasn't until she was a teenager, and began posting her shoots on Instagram, that she became a sensation.
Woods was soon one of the most influential plus-size models in the fashion industry, and she did it all through social media presence. She was first introduced to fellow social media influencer and Hollywood scion Kylie Jenner through their mutual friends Willow and Jaden Smith. Woods and Jenner became roommates and best friends, with Woods appearing regularly on the short lived Kardashians spinoff, "Life With Kylie" (E!, 2017). She would go on to model for Jenner's denim line, Good American, and collaborate with Jenner on a line of cosmetics, fittingly named KYLIE X JORDYN. In late 2018, Woods launched a line of all-inclusive activewear called SECNDNTURE.
With her personal empire worth $6 million, it seemed that Woods was on top of the world. Then, on February 19, 2019, TMZ reported that Jenner's older sister, Khloé Kardashian, was splitting with her partner and father of her child, NBA superstar Tristan Thompson, because he was caught cheating on her with Woods. The rumors spread like wildfire: Woods was caught red-handed giving Thompson a lap dance during a party at his house, Kardashian split with him less than 24 hours later, and Jenner had kicked Woods out of their home. Woods was being painted as a money-grubbing home wrecker, out to destroy America's first family of reality TV. On March 1, 2019, Woods sat down with Jada Pinkett Smith on "Red Table Talk" (Facebook Watch, 2018-) to try and set the record straight. During the interview, Woods was emotional and contrite, taking full responsibility for her actions with Thompson, publicly apologizing to the Kardashian family, and expressing genuine concern for her safety and the safety of her family, not to mention the possibility that her former best friend's family would do everything they could to ruin her "professionally, socially and monetarily." This interview was, for many people, their public introduction to Woods, and it helped swing public opinions in her favor. Woods capitalized on this momentum by making a triumphant return to Instagram, and heading to London, where she and her mother signed a number of lucrative deals with companies looking to bank on Woods' newfound notoriety.
