Leah Lewis is an American actress best known for her breakout role as Ellie Chu in the Netflix film "The Half of It" (2020), a coming-of-age drama directed by Alice Wu. In the film, she plays a shy, intelligent high school student who helps a jock write love letters to a girl they both secretly love. The performance earned her widespread acclaim for her emotional depth and natural screen presence.
She also plays Georgia "George" Fan in the CW series "Nancy Drew," a modern supernatural reimagining of the classic mystery series. More recently, she joined the cast of the rebooted series "Matlock" alongside Kathy Bates, where she plays Sarah, a tech-savvy and ambitious young associate who brings a sharp, modern edge to the legal team.
Born in China and adopted by American parents, Leah Lewis was raised in Florida. In addition to acting, she has a background in singing and voice work — she voices Ember in Pixar's "Elemental" (2023), a major animated role that helped introduce her to an even broader audience.
