Marci Klein

Until the night of the 2007 Golden Globes telecast, Marci Klein was arguably most broadly well-known as the daughter of fashion designer Calvin Klein. But thanks to an acceptance speech by one of that night's winners, Alec Baldwin, her reputation within the TV industry suddenly took a new worldwide prominence.

To a burst of audience applause, the actor deemed Klein "the greatest producer in the history of broadcast television." Even if that's not true, the work by Klein on "Saturday Night Live" and then with one of that show's stars, Tina Fey, on the Baldwin-supported "30 Rock" has evidently taken her to rarefied industry heights.

Did Klein's standing as the daughter of Calvin help open the door to producer work on "SNL" from 1995 through 2010 and simultaneous executive producer duties on "30 Rock" beginning in 2006? Perhaps. But very few privileged show business children turn that into the kind of acceptance Baldwin shared at the Golden Globes in 2007.
