Mary Lee can trace her acting career back to when she was 16 years old. Mary Lee's earliest roles were in film, including "Gaucho Serenade" (1940), the musical "Melody Ranch" (1940) with Gene Autry and "Back in the Saddle" (1941) with Gene Autry. She also appeared in the Gene Autry musical "Ridin' on a Rainbow" (1941) and the Gene Autry western "The Singing Hill" (1941). Her passion for acting continued to her roles in projects like "Nobody's Darling" (1943), "Song of Nevada" (1944) and "The Cowboy and the Senorita" (1944).

She also appeared in the drama "Saint Jack" (1979) with Ben Gazzara. Mary Lee had a number of different projects under her belt in the eighties and the nineties, including "Finders Keepers" "1000 Pieces of Gold" with Rosalind Chao (1991) and "Three Wishes" (1995). Her credits also expanded to "The Big Lebowski" (1998) starring Jeff Bridges. Mary Lee most recently appeared on "Ryman Country Homecoming" (The Nashville Network, 1999-2000).
