Mary Wiseman leapt right into the realm of professional acting almost immediately upon graduation from college. While enrolled at the Drama Division of the Juilliard School in New York City, Wiseman began making a name for herself as a formidable stage and screen actor, beginning with a role in the Boo Killebrew-penned play, "Romance Novels for Dummies," in which she starred opposite Justin Long in 2015.
Wiseman then landed a role in the sketch comedy series "The Characters" (Netflix 2016), playing opposite comedian John Early in his featured episode. The one-off part preceded a recurring role on the crime drama series "Longmire" (A&E 2012-) and another on the sitcom "Baskets" (FX 2016-), all before Wiseman landed her big break: a starring position on the new "Star Trek" series, "Star Trek: Discovery" (CBS All Access 2017-). Wiseman was cast to play Silvia Tilly, a cadet who joins the eponymous ship, the Discovery, during her final year at Starfleet Academy.
