Nafessa Williams was born on Dec. 4, 1989 in Philadelphia, PA. Upon graduation from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, Williams leapt swiftly into a career in acting, accepting a substantial role on the soap opera series "One Life to Live" (ABC 1968-2013). Around the same time, Williams made her big screen debut in the film "Streets" (2011) opposite actor-musician Meek Mill and directed by Jamal Hill. She followed these stints up with parts in films like "The Dirty 30" (2014) and "Brotherly Love" (2015), the latter of which was also directed by Hill, as well as "The Man in 3B" (2015) and "Restored Me" (2016).

That same year, Williams joined the medical drama series "Code Black" (CBS 2015-) in a recurring role as an ill-fated first year resident at the central hospital. She went on to star in the Sundance Film Festival premiere "Burning Sands" (2017), a film about violence in college Greek life, before being cast in the reboot of "Twin Peaks" (ABC/Showtime 1990-91, 2017-).
