Actress Nicole Jaffe began her acting career with a small part, playing a hippy girl in a dune buggy, in the classic Disney comedy "The Love Bug." The next year, her career got off to a serious start when she followed up her debut with four different roles. She received top billing as a woman trying to seduce Elvis Presley in the musical comedy "The Trouble with Girls." She also appeared in a small uncredited role in the James Garner crime film "Marlowe," and in the high-school drama "Room 222."

But by far, her biggest break came that year when she landed the job to voice the character of Velma Dinkley in the animated Hanna-Barbera series "Scooby Doo, Where are You!." Known for her catchphrase "Jinkeys!," Velma was the nerdy intellectual in a gang of teen ghost busters, whose severe myopia was inspired by Jaffe's own. In 1970, she appeared once more on an episode of "Room 222," but after that, she only performed as the voice of Velma. In 1972, after playing the character in seven episodes of "The New Scooby-Doo Movies," she retired from the acting business to become an agent with the prestigious William Morris Agency, and handed the character over to actress Pat Stevens.
