Best known as the adolescent amateur sleuth Marshall Teller in the kids' show "Eerie, Indiana," Omri Katz made his television debut in style at the age of 13 on the wildly popular primetime soap opera "Dallas," on which he played John Ross Ewing III, son of the nefarious J.R. and his put-upon wife Sue Ellen. Katz appeared on 133 episodes of the award-winning drama before the series wrapped in 1991, at which point he moved easily into the lead on "Eerie, Indiana," a kind of "X-Files" for children that predated the popular Chris Carter sci-fi procedural. Each week the suspicious Teller and his trusted sidekick Simon Holmes would confront strange phenomena like Big Foot and dogs bent on world domination.

The strange series was cancelled before all 19 episodes had aired, but the show found a new following of fans when it was later syndicated on the Disney Channel. Katz then landed a recurring role on "The John Larroquette Show," which centered on a curmudgeonly but loveable alcoholic, and earned the lead as the skeptical teen Max in the wild witches family-comedy "Hocus Pocus" before demand for the floppy-haired teen dried up. After reprising his role as the youngest Ewing for the reunion special "Dallas: J.R. Returns," Katz found acting jobs harder and harder to come by. He has since walked away from the spotlight and now splits his time between Israel and Los Angeles, where he works as a hairdresser.
