Paul Kreppel's acting career began with roles in the series "It's a Living" (1980-87), "Making a Living" (ABC, 1981-82) and "Night Court" (NBC, 1983-1992). He also appeared in the TV movie "Moviola: The Scarlett O'Hara War" (NBC, 1979-1980). He appeared in a number of television specials, including "13 Thirteenth Avenue" (CBS, 1982-83) and "The 1988 Miss Teen USA Pageant" (CBS, 1987-88). In the eighties and the nineties, Kreppel devoted his time to various credits, such as "Doogie Howser, M.D." (ABC, 1989-1993), "Jetsons: The Movie" (1990) and "The Building" (CBS, 1992-93). He also worked on "Thea" (ABC, 1993-94).

Recently, Kreppel directed "Simon" (1995-96), , "Brotherly Love" (1995-97), , and "Head Over Heels" (1997-98), In addition to his directing, Kreppel also appeared on-screen in "Cybill" (CBS, 1994-98) and "ER" (NBC, 1994-2009). Most recently, Kreppel acted in the Zephyr Benson drama "Straight Outta Tompkins" (2015).
