Sandra “Pepa” Denton is a Jamaican-American rapper, singer, and actress best known as a member of the groundbreaking all-female hip-hop trio Salt-N-Pepa. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, she moved to the United States as a child and eventually formed Salt-N-Pepa in the mid-1980s with Cheryl “Salt” James and later Deidra “DJ Spinderella” Roper.

The group became renowned for hits like “Push It,” “Shoop,” and “Whatta Man,” making them pioneers in bringing female voices to mainstream hip-hop.
