Robert Andrew "Robbie" Kay was born on Sept. 13, 1995 in Hampshire, England, and grew up in the Czech Republic. Kay was drawn to acting by a casting call for "The Illusionist" (2006), an American production that filmed in the Czech Republic, in which he landed a small speaking part. Despite never making it to the final cut of the film, Kay was encouraged to pursue acting further, ultimately making his film debut one year later with "Hannibal Rising" (2007). He leapt to the top-billed parts quickly, starring in projects like "Fugitive Pieces" (2007), the European movie "Pinocchio" (2008), and the family drama "Ways to Live Forever" (2010).
Soon enough, Kay made his way into the business of American blockbuster cinema with an appearance in "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" (2011). However, Kay pointed his ambitions toward the small screen thereafter. He signed on to the popular fairy tale series "Once Upon a Time" (ABC 2011-) during its third season, playing the role of Peter Pan. While still attached to "Once Upon a Time," Kay joined the original cast of the science fiction reboot "Heroes Reborn" (NBC 2015-). He played Tommy Clark, an Illinois high school student with the superpower of teleportation.
