Rosanna Pansino is an American actress and internet personality whose cooking-themed YouTube channel, Nerdy Nummies, had over 6.5 million subscribers, and nearly 1.5 billion views, by July 2016. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Pansino moved to Los Angeles in the late 2000s to break into film and television acting.
She quickly landed an uncredited role as a holiday elf on the hit NBC sitcom "Parks and Recreation" (NBC, 2009-2015), as well as a small role as a cheerleader on "Glee" (Fox, 2009-2015), but by 2011 she was starting to see how futile of an endeavor it was to become a working actress in the cutthroat world of Hollywood. Frustrated but not broken, Pansino turned to her close group of friends, all of whom were making videos and posting them on YouTube.
They suggested that Pansino do the same, and seeing as her acting career had stalled, she decided to give it a shot. Since baking had been a passion of hers since she was a young girl, Pansino started posting videos to the site that focused on how to bake desserts. She called her show "Nerdy Nummies," seeing as most of the sweets she baked resembled popular video game and television characters, and the series quickly took off.
Within a few years "Nerdy Nummies" had grown to become one of the most popular cooking shows on YouTube, with million of subscribers and over a billion views to her hilarious videos. The show became such a success that in November of 2015 Pansino published a tie-in cookbook called The Nerdy Nummies Cookbook. The cookbook reached the New York Times best seller list in late 2015.
