At the tender age of seven, Shelley Smith began her entertainment career as an actress. She was nominated for a BAFTA Award for "Tiger Bay" in 1959. She also appeared in the TV special "The Celebrity Football Classic" (NBC, 1979-1980). Later, she earned a role in the comedy "National Lampoon's Class Reunion" (1982) with Gerrit Graham. She also starred in the TV movies "Scruples" (1980-81), "The Night the City Screamed" (ABC, 1980-81) and "The Phoenix" (ABC, 1980-81). She also appeared in "This House Possessed" (ABC, 1980-81).

During the latter part of her career, she tackled roles on "For Love and Honor" (NBC, 1983-84) and "Murder, She Wrote" (CBS, 1984-1996). She also was featured in the TV movies "The Fantastic World of D.C. Collins" (NBC, 1983-84) and "Fatal Charm" (Showtime, 1991-92). Smith also contributed music to the action movie "Home Alone 3" (1997) with Alex D Linz. Shelley Smith died on August 8, 2023 in Hollywood, CA at the age of 70.
