Midwestern juvenile actor Van Crosby earned his big break as the son of parents in the midst of an unorthodox breakup on the ABC sitcom "Splitting Up Together" (2018- ). Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, he lived with his family in the suburb of Fishers until the age of two, when they relocated to Los Angeles. There, his elder sister, Haley Fite, began working on television and in commercials, and he soon followed suit, earning his first national print ad for Marisco Funds at the age of three and his first national commercial, for Little Tikes, the following year. More advertising spots preceded his first acting role in a 2008 short film, "While You Were Away,"
and Crosby netted several more small screen guest appearances, including a skit on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" (NBC, 1992-2014), before gaining his first series role on "Splitting Up Together." The comedy, produced by Ellen DeGeneres, among others, and based on a Danish comedy series, "Bedre skilt end aldrig" (2016), starred Jenna Fischer and Oliver Hudson as a married couple that decides to divorce while remaining in the same house; Crosby played Mason, one of their three children.
