Actress Xochitl Gomez was born in Los Angeles, California on April 29, 2006. Raised in the Los Angeles area, Gomez was immersed in the local Mexican-American community speaking both English and Spanish. At 5 years old, her mother enrolled her in a musical theater class. From there, Gomez developed an immediate passion for acting and performed in 22 musicals before she was 12 years old. Her parents were supportive of her desire to act professionally, taking her to auditions where she started with roles in commercials and enrolling her in martial arts classes.
Her television debut was as a school journalist for two episodes in season 2 of "Raven's Home" (Disney 2017- ). In 2020 she was cast as a main character, Dawn Schafer, in "The Baby-Sitters Club" (Netflix 2020-2021). The big breakthrough for Gomez came when she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as America Chavez in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" (2022).
