Yolanda Whittaker, better known by her stage name Yo-Yo, was born on August 4, 1971. She is a prominent American rapper, actor, and entrepreneur who gained recognition in the early 1990s with her debut album "Make Way for the Motherlode" (1991). A protégé of Ice Cube, Yo-Yo is celebrated for her empowering lyrics and her advocacy for women's rights in hip-hop.

In addition to her music career, she has appeared in several films and TV shows, including "Boyz N The Hood" (1991) and the Disney Channel serie "Saturday" (Disney, 2023-).

Whitaker continues to be active in the entertainment industry, mentoring young artists and engaging in community work through her Yo-Yo School of Hip-Hop.
